George Henri Playground
The Georges Henri Park playground is located in a green and densely populated area. This project was designed on the basis of a participatory process. During these workshops, the children mainly created abstract forms. Based on this observation, Sweden 36 has focused on elements that stimulate the imagination. It is therefore possible to invent more than one universe with the same environment.
Children prefer soft, plastic, ergonomic shapes and bright colours. But in order to blend in smoothly with the park, the architects have chosen an exterior cladding of natural wood, while the interior of the elements is painted in bright, primary colours. Plastic games discreetly punctuate the composition. Not all children have the same universe. In addition to the usual "sporting" sensations, Sweden 36 also offers elements for dreaming or playing: getting lost in a labyrinth, lying on a coloured carpet or under a cloud-shaped roof...
The different sections have not been separated too clearly. Without compromising safety, children of all ages can mix together. For example, instead of being fenced in, the play areas for older children have simply been made more difficult to access.
